Karin Alfredsson has worked as a journalist all her adult life. She has worked as an editor-in-Chief, TV-presenter and program director at Swedish Television.
Her first book was published 1979, where she for the first time writes about men’s violence towards women in close relationships. After that a series of books with similar themes for social justice follows. In 2006 her first crime novel in the series about Ellen Elg was published. The five books in the series has been translation into a handful of languages.
Karin was also one of the initiator of the project Cause of Death: Woman, a journalistic review of violence against women in ten countries. For three years she worked as region manager for the international aid organization We Effect in southern Africa and lived in Zambia.
